Registrations for the upcoming school year will be accepted in February each year. For both SCA Elementary (SCE) and SCA Secondary (SCS) the admission process begins with prospective families registering for SCA through EIPS. Each school will also have an open house during the registration season for families interested in registering. Please visit the SCA Society’s admissions page and each school’s website (scaelementary.ca or scasecondary.ca) for more information.
Please note that registration does not guarantee enrolment. The schools will contact all families after registration closes to inform them of their enrolment status, accepted or declined.

If you are adding a new student, you must register them with the division before the February deadline, even if you already have children attending SCA. (e.g. adding a new student starting Kindergarten or another grade).

SCA does not charge tuition since we are an Alternative Program under the Elk Island Public School (EIPS) Board.
However, we do charge an Alternative Christian Program Fee. This fee provides students with Christian programming and school facilities; through Sherwood Park Alliance Church, SCA owns and operates its school buildings independently of EIPS. (This Alternative Christian Program Fee is not tuition but is sometimes erroneously referred to as such.)

SCA wishes to enrol all new families who desire a Christian education for their children.
Boundaries: As an alternative school in Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS), SCA does not have geographic boundaries. New students may register at our school regardless of their home address. However, yellow bus availability is determined by your home address. If you require yellow bus service, please view the EIPS Transportation website or call them directly at 780-417-8151.
Enrolment Limits: If the number of new student registrations exceeds the number of available spaces at SCA, new students will be chosen by random selection in accordance with EIPS Administrative Procedure 305.
Non-Resident Students: Students from outside the EIPS boundary limits will be enroled only if space permits after all resident students have been enroled.
Because SCA is an alternative program, every student attends SCA as a non-designated school registration within Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS). Acceptance is based on available space and is governed by EIPS Administrative Procedure (AP) 305.
If the number of new registrations exceeds the available space, EIPS conducts a random draw in accordance EIPS AP 305. A random draw provides all eligible division students an equal opportunity to register in schools where space is restricted due to enrolments in grades or programs.
The siblings of students/children currently attending a an SCA school, shall be permitted to register in the same school if the newly registered sibling(s) will be attending the school at the same time as the currently registered sibling.

Our mission is to invite students, through Christ-centered education, to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord in order to pursue a life of godly character in service to others and achieve their academic potential.
SCA opened its doors as an outreach ministry of Sherwood Park Alliance Church in 1980 with an initial enrolment of 347 students. The school evolved and enrolment increased, leading toward a mutually beneficial partnership with Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) in 1998 as an Alternative Christian program. The vision for Christian education that would not sacrifice excellence in academics, sports, arts and leadership has not changed over the years, and is respected and supported by EIPS.

School uniforms are not worn at Strathcona Christian Academy.
As Christians, we strive to represent Jesus Christ and to glorify God in all aspects of our lives, including the choices we make in clothing and appearance. Students are expected to dress professionally and appropriately for academic study and school-related activities
There are no daycares or before and after school care available through SCA.
